You may thing that having huge dark patches of sweat under your armpits is one of the worst things that can happen. You may be extremely embarrassed if you discover these sweaty armpits when you are out and about during the day or night. It can make the sufferer very self conscious and uncomfortable in social situations. And if you are stressed out worrying about the problem it can just get worse so you are stuck in a chicken and egg scenario. So what can you do about sweaty armpits?

Sweating can be a much bigger problem for some people even though it is just a normal bodily function for others. Sweating is not a problem at all for some people who hardly even notice it. For others it can be a huge problem which causes no end of discomfort and embarrassment. Bacteria can build up under the armpits as moisture can become trapped in this area and bacteria thrive in moisture laden areas. And the bacteria which can build up here is worse in people with excessive sweating. And once bacteria builds up, you can expect there to be some sort of body odour.

However there are things that can be done to help stop underarm sweating. There is advice you can follow which will help you to reduce the amount of perspiration that accumulates under your arms. It is a good idea to use a good antiperspirant deodorant every morning after your shower. Before you apply the deodorant you should make sure the area is clean and dry. Try to ensure that the clothes you wear are loose fitting and that they are light in colour. Wearing dark coloured clothing will only emphasise any sweat patches that you might have. And it is also advisable for you to avoid wearing any clothing made from materials which are artificial as these can cause you to sweat more.

Another tip is to make sure you shave under your arms frequently as hair can trap moisture there making the problem worse. Keep an eye on your diet. You may find that you sweat more when you eat hot foods such as onions, garlic, chilli peppers and curries.
