FrostyCarey asked:
I have a chihuahua she’s old and blind she was rescued from hurricane katrina, she had torn her eye by bumping in to things she is currently bleeding out of her eye. I do not have the funds to take her to the clinic nor do i know anyone to help me, and the clinic won’t help me. so how do you think i should care for her eye?

There’s nothing you can do for it, she needs a vet.

Vets clinic – if you cant afford to care for an animals need properly you shouldnt have it.

If you can’t afford to take her to a vet you really shouldn’t have the dog, even if you did rescue her. Its not fair to let her suffer like that. Take her to a vet immediately, you can put it on a credit card and pay it off!

you really just need to take her to the vet. she needs a doctor to look at it. otherwise it may get infected, if it is not already. and that will just make matters worse.

i can not stand it when people say that they dont have the money to go to a vet!! if you are goijng to have an animal then you need money put away in case something happens to that animal!!! it is a responsibilty and a priviledge to have an animal, not a bloody right!
your dog needs to get to a vet. regardless of how you get the money, that is what you need to do. it could be in pain, could lead to infection and maybe even blood poisoning. take her to the vet, before you make things worse for her.

Your friend now needs medical attention. If she is not treated, she could risk getting an infection in the eye. Home remedies are not the answer, and since she is blind, she might bump into something else and cause further damage to the eye. The fact that she’s bleeding from the eye is quite serious. All I can suggest is taking her to the vet for an assessment, and then consider the options that the vet gives to you. Good luck.

Call your local SPCA or the rescue agency you got the dog from and they should help. You can also call some kind of vet credit company that will approve you over the phone for a loan to pay it. I can’t remember the name of the company perhaps another poster can.
She really needs to see a vet. Because she is old she needs attention more readily than younger dogs. She can bleed out or cause sever animea if not treated properly which is costly to treat.

wow…this sounds like an infection waiting to happen. Your dog really needs to see a vet. Inquire about payment plans if you can not afford the bill, or ask a family/friend to help you out. Proper medical care is part of being a responsible pet owner.

Apply for Care Credit:
1-800-365-8295 call them right now and see if you are qualifyed for one of their no interest or low interest loans for getting your dog some health care. If not than you should see if your vet can make a payment plan for you.
Your dog needs medical care from a vet. Nothing you can do for it at home. Poor dog!
